Why is life unfair?

A savior born this month (according to tradition) was an emissary of Peace and Hope in a natural world where there’s a battle between Good and Evil.

Human beings equally require shadow and light to discern one from the other and worldwide nearly half of humankind survives on less than $6.00 a day so poverty is a default condition for most people.

Nature is both beautiful and cruel and worldly survival is built of both.

Accepting that there’s a place without those struggles is called ‘faith’ and living purposefully to improve human existence (one person at a time) is life.

Doing our best, through generosity and forgiveness, seems a fair use of our worldly lives once we realize we’re not ‘in charge’.

In defense of BIG kids…

Kids, who are bigger than their similar aged peers, get a bum rap.

Kids who are “big” are considered to be older and more restrained than little kids. They cannot return a smaller kid’s push without risking the “bully” label but, somehow, are expected to be more mature.

Big kids are expected to be smarter because they “appear” older and ,because of this, can be measured at a glance, as dumber. A rock and a hard place that is!

Big kids who cry, seem more babyish than little ones. C’mon now, we all know they do.

The prejudices are not exclusive to size either. Parents are eager to accept that their slightly younger child is as knowledgeable as an older one but just won’t budge when it comes to considering that their older child may be as immature as one slightly younger.

The key words in many descriptions are too often overlooked. The key word in the term “big kid” is kid.

With all this in mind, isn’t the key word in “gun violence”, violence?

Food for thought…watch for key words in every label. They’re there, the problem arises when we don’t recognize them.

What’s eating me up?

It is very upsetting to me that I have lost so much faith in law makers, police officers and our courts.

Am I a victim of propaganda or a person who knows a corrupt reality?

I realize that our current media is much more efficient in showing and interested in the “bad” things that happen. Bad stuff has always gone on.

Greed will never be erased. Injustices make justice more precious.

Where can a person go to find answers rather than more questions?

I love our country deeply. Yes, our Star Spangled Banner gives me goosebumps. From where I sit, money or the lack of it, decides justice in our courts more often than values. The courts are deciding legislative matters, the people vote on referendums and are ignored. The rules for police officers and “big shots” are not the same as for the greater majority.

I do not think we should accept arguments about race or national origin. The REAL deal is about wealth and the power which comes from it.

I’m tired of the blame game. Tired of the every thing “has to be fair” argument. Mostly, the mistrust I have in our government is wearing me out. It is changing me…I want to believe in the goodness of folks. I want to believe that voters have intelligent arguments and reasons for their votes. I want to believe that our media hasn’t an agenda of its own.

BUT I DON’T.

Please convince me that I have nothing to fear.
