Simply 6-Minutes 3/7/23 Evil Cloaks Itself in Beauty

In only 6 minutes we must use the image below to inspire a story.

Son: ” Dad, we’re doing a new unit about ‘serial killers’ at school. I was surprised that Ted Bundy didn’t look at all like a ‘monster’.”

Dad: “That’s the same revelation that I had when I first saw him in the news. That observation opened my eyes to ‘how evil works’ in our world. It, more often than not, appeals to people’s ‘better natures’ and cons them into doing its bidding. Far more harm and destruction has come from people convinced that they were doing something ‘noble’ and ‘good’ than ugly barbarians. An interruption to common sense and logic comes ‘gift wrapped’ in a pretty promise that people may have an opportunity to ‘show off’ their virtuousness. Bundy was good looking and likeable, so he wasn’t easily suspected of “evil” which gave him more opportunities to use it.

Son: OMG…That sounds like the same way people pick which politicians they vote for!

The Sunday Whirl #577- A Difficult Offer to Refuse

yourself *guard *trust *pot *thought *kind *willow *breath *ego *focus *end *forgive

Dear Sir:
This is in response to your recent text, “Save your breath!”. My name is Willow and I’m with CCP- Compassionate Censorship and Propaganda. I just wonder if you thought it kind to end our texting exchange on such an ugly note. Here’s the GOOD NEWS; I forgive you! I am hoping you might now re-focus yourself on trust in humankind and let your guard down. I understand that the male ego is overtly belligerent, but our organization sincerely believes in second chances even though we are all aware what three strikes mean, don’t we, Sir?
We have an offer just for YOU today that could change your world. You’ll receive our first two New York Times best sellers absolutely FREE of charge in exchange for giving up your ‘bullying ways’ and growing a boatload of ‘pot‘. “Mellow minds are the most tolerant kinds!” is one of our favorite mottos.
Your first lovely gift is right up your alley. It’s entitled, “Selective Abortion: Eliminating Toxic Masculinity for Good” by Dev L. Spaun and the other one, which our organization promises will keep people like you on the edge of your seat, is, “How to Kill Off Opposition with a Smile” by Cora Rupt-Powers -Introduction by Hillary Clinton.
Thanks in advance as we don’t accept “No” for an answer.
Have a nice day!

Sunday Poser #99- 9/25/22

I compare myself to no one. Each day I count my blessings and set my sights on being a better version of myself.
There’s always room for improvement, IMHO.
I struggle, though, with trying to remain tolerant of others while feeling the need to ‘speak up’ in the face of evil and wrongdoing. The phrase “In order for evil to flourish it requires good men to do nothing.” looms large in my heart.
On a personal level, I try to be kind, forgiving, and tolerant and I save my ‘speaking out’ for topics, ideologies, and policies. I can ‘love’ individual people but in no way feel that I have any requirement to approve of their actions or philosophies.
I can be influenced by well-reasoned arguments, but I can never be bought, shamed or intimidated into doing (or believing in) anything I feel is unethical or immoral. Ultimately this makes me sometimes sound opinionated and/or intolerant of those who believe ‘making waves’ is ‘hate’ and uniform compliance is ‘kindness’.
With all due respect, I don’t allow the opinions of others to define me or threaten me, because I never lose sight of my faithfulness to God and being able to live with myself.
As far as forgiving myself, here’s a song I taught my day care kids many years ago. I still live by it. Enjoy!

Choose Hope

Choices aren’t easy
Choices aren’t fair
Choices aren’t frequent
Most aren’t even there.

To homeschool expensive
Taxation is theft
Buy groceries or donate
No choices are left

Illegals who work
Are modern day slaves
There’s no one to tell
If the boss misbehaves

Parents need money
To cover the home
No choice to raise children
Instead let them roam

Speaking makes trouble
Voting unsound
No power or leverage
When corruptions abound

There’s little to choose from
No need to complain
Elites are not worried
Your choice their disdain.

There’s one thing remaining
One choice every day
Look up to our Maker
And learn how to pray

The best source of choices
Is believing there’s hope
Evil has no power
Once the meek learn to cope

Just existing is useless
Free people must thrive
With faith now our weapon
True choice we revive.

BREAKING NEWS…
A mass suicide was discovered at the Ranch of Hope today. The leader of this underground cult has been apprehended. Gault James had accumulated a clan of one dozen young women over the last two years and, somehow, convinced them to take their own lives as an ultimate act of their devotion to him. The charismatic James, a man in his sixties, is wanted in Costa Rica for an identical crime. He brainwashed and abused young women who had had loveless and troubled lives convincing them of his eternal devotion. Those, he tired of, were eventually convinced to commit suicide leaving him an opportunity to ‘slip away’ in search of new victims to seduce with a “caress of madness” only The Devil himself could inspire.

Mode of death: arsenic poisoning

*Found at the Ranch of Hope with eleven other cult members.
