  • It was MY moment of fame,
    An actor’s first claim,
    Selling a product
    And building a name.

    But the spotlight endorsed
    A child, of course,
    So, my moment of stardom
Took a turn for the worse!

    Upstaged by innocence.
    “And that’s a wrap, folks!”

Kitten Petting

Rubbing my kitten to and fro,
We love each other; this I know.

She hunches her spine.
A soft motor-like purr.
She rolls her green eyes.
Kneading claws spur.
A static shock!
On wetted nose,
A spark of white light,

And off she goes!

Tag Sale Lament

‘Leftovers’
In a box… the ‘overlooked’
among the ‘unwanted’, lay in decay.
Once treasured enough to fold and ruin.
Crippled rippled bindings grip
read-worn powdery pages.
Within lives an enduring tale.
But material tours don’t last forever.
One dump-defying last chance …
Paperbacks For Free.

I spied a wee mouse. It made me squeal.
He rose on two and gave up this spiel:

“How can YOU claim a galled fright?
Not ONE crumb have I found tonight.
Shiver not, you greedy disgrace.
I’ll bid farewell and blow this place!”

d’Verse Quadrille Monday- Seed

If you’re new to dVerse or the quadrille, it’s simply a poem of 44 words, excluding the title. This is a dVerse-created form. It can be written as any type of poem, rhymed or unrhymed, metered, or unmetered. You MUST use the given word–or some form of the word, such as seedling– in your poem (not simply the title). Today the word is SEED.

#fern from .:. Unicorn Vibration .:.

Ferns never complain.
Their seeds dispersed unevenly
-Some never taking root-
Seek a fertile place.
The art of natural living.

Nonchalance.

Each reaching its own potential.
Uneven heights and varied designs,
Yet, interlaced in common soil.
Symbiotic of place and time.

United they persevere.
