Weekend Writing Prompt #301- When We Soar

Tarzan, I tried and Cas on Pinterest

Treetops together form a canopy.
What a perfectly beautiful place to be.
Oh, views from there, will set you free!

TV’s Tarzan swung on vines in mid-air.
A treetop, monkey business, and daring, affair.
Kids, like me, dreamt of living up there.

Imagination empowers us ready to soar.
Treetops can definitely be reached and MORE!
Next step, “Where no one has gone before”.

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #270- Ghosting Rarer Souls

I’ve been having a great deal of fun with triolets lately. I created one for this beautiful prompt image.

How varied the colors our eyes comprehend,
Ghosting rarer souls from our clear ‘view’.
Appearance defines not one person, my friend.
How varied the colors our eyes comprehend.

Unique among billions. Diverse without end.
Human ‘ranking’ – corrupt and untrue.
How varied the colors our eyes comprehend,
Ghosting rarer souls from our clear ‘view’.

Six Sentence Story – High on Life

PROMPT WORD:  ZEST

They called her Exuberant Ellen.

“Wow! Cool!” was her ‘go to’ refrain.

She was equally zesty in sunshine as she was when she danced in the rain.

Fascination was her daily mindset.

Science always ‘blew her away’!

Using drugs just never occurred to her as she remains “high” on life to this day.

Weekend Writing Challenge #300- Questions. Questions Everywhere.

Questions. Questions Everywhere.

Is midnight the ‘beginning’ or ‘end’ of a day?
Should something you enjoy be called “work” or “play”?
Can we trust what “you do” or what “you say”?
Does one complaint mean you get your own way?

I hope you realize that opposites are rare.
Before you claim others seem so ‘unfair’,
Subjectiveness lurks everywhere.
Nuance isn’t easy to share.
Hearts don’t think and minds can’t care.

Keep asking questions, and boldly confess,
The best we have is a personal “guess”.
Conclusions roundly cause “thinkers” duress.
So, make your “go to” answer, “Yes.”
But…?”

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #269- Indecent Exposure

Today’s theme is Sarcasm.

There’s no doubt that sarcasm takes ‘wit’,
And it’s not at all troubling to me.
There’s wry humor in my use of it.
There’s no doubt that sarcasm takes ‘wit’.
Ah, there are those who don’t like it one bit!
Their hearts are more decent, you see.
There’s no doubt that sarcasm takes ‘wit’,
And it’s not at all troubling to me.

Ronovan Writes SIJO Wednesday Poetry Challenge #50- Sober Minds

Temptation

You should use the word as your inspiration as either a theme of the Sijo or in the poem itself.

There are:

  • Three Lines
  • 14-16 syllables per line
  • A total of 44-46 syllables for the entire poem.

It’s a human temptation to react according to heart.
Only the wise know better from lessons of such a folly.
Our hearts inspire but sober minds are vital to evolution.
