Let’s sweeten up our quadrilles, shall we? Pop a bit of candy into your poem. Use it as a noun, verb or adjective. As always, the theme and style of your poem is open. Just remember your quadrille should be exactly 44 words, not including the title and include the word “candy” or a derivative of the word.
Everlasting memories of innocent first love
Sing to old romantic hearts.
Once confectionary kisses echo a tune
With an intimate rhythm lifting our aging souls.
Addled breathless waves,
Sweet as candy.
Sweep the present toward long-ago moments
Inspired by melodies written just for us.
This song not only compliments today’s theme but it also still curls my toes. 😉

Thank you! From the heart it was.

I love the sweet nostalgia of this poem! You captured the feeling very well.
Echoes of love reverberate sweetly through your quadrille, Susan!
Susan, sometimes, rare yet existing, those little emoji icons convey better what words would fail…
Love how you used the candy for a the metaphor for sweet words
Thank-you, Bjorn. 😊
Great and good song choice too 🙂
