My Mom and Nan used to videotape episodes of the soap they both watched. They’d swap tapes and try to catch up on episodes they’d missed if they were busy that night.
I go back farther than VHS tapes. People enjoyed that advancement immensely.
But… from my understanding of soap operas, the more those stories evolved, the more they stayed the same. 😁
And that gave a particular aura to the act of watching, didn’t it?
Coupled with the effort required to abandon our outdoor activities for it🙂
Absolutely made life special. 😊
