Rising at dawn,
Breathing in peacefulness,
Your thankful habit
Of poignant pause.
In vital company of
One moment wholly natural.
-Alertness alive-
Everything greeting nothing.
Nebulous doubts of
Reward obscured by honesty,
Fortune occupies the morning.
Where tepid souls awaken
To all things possible.

I love ‘where tepid souls awaken to all things possible.’ Beautiful!
Thank-you! This was an inspiring prompt. 🙂
I love to hear that. 🙂
“Nebulous doubts of/ Reward obscured by honesty”
that really chimes with me for various penny-wistful reasons, pushing a vegetable stall into the street, early mornings, feeling obliged to declare paltry takings to the taxman… that was in my younger days of conscience-trap…I was a tepid soul, I guess… thanks for the write!
Thank you for your comment that my words touched you! We all bring ourselves to poetry and it’s sometimes ‘everything’ greeted by ‘something’. I’m pleased.
Beautifully done. Morning sunrise is made for hope.
😊 Much appreciated.
You are welcome!
I believe most mornings I wake up pretty tepid! :>)
🤣 Many can identify. Thanks.
Your first stanza does it for me. Instant relaxation reading it.
I wrestled with making it the last stanza but I too liked the tone it set. Thanks so much!
You’re very welcome, Susan.
“everything greeting nothing”…love this!
My favorite line too. Thanks for your comment!
The everything and the nothing, equally important. Wonderful.
I think your comment is wonderful. I wasn’t sure that line was resonating with anyone. It was a big deal to me. 🥰
💙
The possibilities of the day – morning is a hopeful time. Lovely.
Thank-you. Every day starts anew.
😊
Every morning brings new possibilities, I love that… how wonderful
Thanks Bjorn! That’s how I feel every day. 🎶😊
Wind chime this is. A beautiful one.
Each verse a soulfully tuned part and when air dances through them,
they create calm, enchanting melodies.
Your poetic comment made my morning. I don’t believe I have ever had a more beautiful one. Many thanks. 😊
Love the ending: “all things possible”–YES!
Thanks. 😊❤👍
Welcome.
Susan, this is such a lovely poem and I really love this line in particular! 🙂
