Rising at dawn,
Breathing in peacefulness,
Your thankful habit
Of poignant pause.

In vital company of
One moment wholly natural.
-Alertness alive-
Everything greeting nothing.

Nebulous doubts of
Reward obscured by honesty,
Fortune occupies the morning.
Where tepid souls awaken
To all things possible.

I love a well told story. If it makes me laugh, all the better.

  1. “Nebulous doubts of/ Reward obscured by honesty”
that really chimes with me for various penny-wistful reasons, pushing a vegetable stall into the street, early mornings, feeling obliged to declare paltry takings to the taxman… that was in my younger days of conscience-trap…I was a tepid soul, I guess… thanks for the write!

    1. Thank you for your comment that my words touched you! We all bring ourselves to poetry and it’s sometimes ‘everything’ greeted by ‘something’. I’m pleased.

  2. Wind chime this is. A beautiful one.
Each verse a soulfully tuned part and when air dances through them,
    they create calm, enchanting melodies.

Tell me something good...
