Quadrille # 130- Smudge Solved

It’s that time again. For those of you new to the Quadrille, this is a poetry form originating here, from our very own virtual pub! We are writing poems of exactly 44 words, excluding the title BUT it must include a given word. Today, I give you the word …..

“smudge”.

A cockroach told a royal lie,
That ‘smudge’ turned into rumors.
Told the king his son would die,
From malignant tumors.
Common knowledge made them cry,
‘Til a wise man shook his fist.
You listened to that cockroach guy?!”

Mass anguish solved by “squish“.

I love a well told story. If it makes me laugh, all the better.

      1. Haha! Yes, no those are harder to get rid off. There are so many liars, cheaters and stealers in all guises. Avoiding them all is hard work!

  1. The only good cockroach is a squished cockroach! May be harsh to say but that’s my truth. 🙂 Like David, your poem had a limerick feel to it to me which are really fun.

Tell me something good...
