A quadrille is a poem of 44 words, including the prompt word, or a variation of that prompt word. And the word I’ve chosen tonight is “swift”.
A city fella bought a jeep
Went to find a hill real steep
Miles from the lights and glow
Found a meadow filled with snow
A sudden pitch
A hidden ditch
The farmer found him in a drift
Them city fellas ain’t too swift.

This made me laugh! Great use of vernacular here, and the rhyme scheme is lots of fun.
So happy it offered a smile. Thanks!
Nice. Yours is the first I’ve read to use swift when speaking of intelligence level instead of quickness or a bird. It’s been a a while since I’ve heard that phrase.
Much appreciated. I hadn’t realized how old I am until you reminded me of the outdated definition. lol 😉
