Friday Fictioneers ~ 3/5/21

Friday Fictioneers is hosted by the delightful Rochelle.
There’s a weekly challenge, a standard, and a prompt photo.
The idea, as always, is to write a story of around 100 words based on the picture below.

“What the holly hell?!”
The two teens eyed their restitution assignment.
“All we did was open a fire hydrant to cool off! There must be six floors of stairs here.”
“We have ONLY one gallon of paint. The judge must think we’re magicians!”
Thomas reexamined the directions.
Berkery, off the street, 4 doors down.
“Berkery street alright.”
They rolled up their sleeves and started painting running out mid-way up the second flight.
“Now what?”
As they rested on the stoop a baker waved from his shop across the way.
“Hey! You boys here to paint my stairs?”
“Flippin’ typos!”

I love a well told story. If it makes me laugh, all the better.

    1. Unbelievable! That was a total surprise. For those who don’t know, ‘berks’ is British slang for fools. What a marvelous- accidental- name I chose. Thanks for the enlightenment.

Tell me something good...
