an outdoor life.
Beyond the rush
And daily strife.
To watch a cloud,
Pet a horse,
Learning ’bout
A natural course.
Blowing seeds
Upon the wind.
Watching them
take life again.
Naming birds
and falling leaves.
Rowing boats
and climbing trees.
Treating water
like it’s gold.
Embracing life
beyond the fold.
Take a deep breath
every morn.
Ever glad that
you were born.
A foolish one
in life ignores.
How products get
to shelves at stores.
There’s more to life
beyond a book.
Get outdoors
and take a look.
Senses heightened,
A world so wide.
Let Mother Nature
be your guide.
My hope is for
a better feel.
The outdoor life
will keep you real.
I agree, Susan! I definitely am an outdoors kinda guy, and think it is the BEST place to be. BUT! “There’s more to life beyond a book”?? I think you’ve gone too far! Books are my second favorite thing, and and and… you can read outside!
Yes, it was the right rhyme but made me cringe too…internet is a difficult word to end with! Ha!
hahaha… I knew that, just had to give you a bad time!
Wonderful poem.
I hope Katherine shares this with her kids one day ❤
What a lovely gift for every child.
😉 Thanks.
